Carrier Clinic, a private, not for profit behavioral healthcare system, specializes in psychiatric and addiction treatment. Carrier offers a full array of specialized services across the continuum, which includes: General Adult Psychiatric, Adolescent, Geriatric, Dual Diagnosis, Residential, and Educational Services. Discovery has been in continuous operation since 1970 when it was established and operated as a residential therapeutic community. The program has evolved from a single therapeutic community into a multi-modality, substance abuse treatment center. We are licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services.  Residential Treatment Program
Discovery Institute offers short-term and long-term residential programs, which vary between 30-180 days. This is a medically monitored adult program is within a carefully structured community of recovering peers.

Outpatient Treatment Program

The College of New Jersey

The Department of Counselor Education at The College of New Jersey offers master's level programs that prepare students for positions as professional counselors. As a unit within the School of Education, the department offers a 48 semester hour Master of Arts degree (MA) with options in School Counseling and Community Counseling. Both the School Counseling and the Community Counseling options are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). In addition, the department offers a 21 semester hour graduate program to prepare students to be eligible for the Substance Awareness Coordinator Certificate in the public schools in New Jersey, and a 24 semester hour Post Master's Ed.S. Degree Program in Marriage and Family Therapy.
