NJCA is the New Jersey branch of the American Counseling Association, an internationally recognized leader fully representing the interests of professional counselors. Your separate dues to the NJCA will be invested in improving the professional lives of counselors through education, the establishment of networking and communication links, state legislative changes and more.
As a professional association, NJCA primarily operates as a networking vehicle, a professional development body and as a representative on issues of importance to our members. NJCA is not an expert on legal, licensing or related issues and is not in a position to offer specific advise to its members on such issues with regard to individual situation. The Professional Counselor Examiners Committee of the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners regulates the practice of professional counseling and deals with licensure and related matters. Referral to university advisors or legal counsel may also be warranted, depending on individual circumstances.
